January 24, 2026 (SSNA) — South Sudan International Advocacy for Human Rights (SSIAHR ) condemns the seven-day warning speech by Chief Paul Nang Majok in Jalle on January 21, 2026, and the speech by Johnson Ulony in Poktap on January 24, 2026, openly calling for the killing of civilians, including children, elders, and even animals are extremely alarming and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms. Such statements are reckless incitement to mass violence.
This rhetoric follows a clear pattern of atrocities against civilians:
- March 17–April 9, 2025: Bombardments in Nasir and Longechuk (Upper Nile) killed 58 civilians, mostly women, children, and elders.
- May 3, 2025: Bombing of the MSF hospital in Fangak (Jonglei) killed 7 and injured 27 civilians.
- May 7, 2025: Airstrikes in Kuryiek Mayom County (Unity) killed 6 and injured 12 civilians.
- December 2nd, 2025: Bombardments in Ayod County Jonglei killed 8 children and 5 women.
- Dec 29-31, 2026, Airstrike in Lakien, Nyirol County (Jonglei) killed 11 including Children and women.
Where are the governors, Riek Bim, Riek Gai and Jacob Dollar, MPs, and Military generals from these states who serve in the government? Do they agree, or do they fear speaking out while their own people are killed?
Silence in the face of such crimes is a failure of leadership. These atrocities occurred under the watch of President Salva Kiir and Chief Paul Nang Majok, and history will remember those who remained silent.

Thank you,
Peter Kuel, President SSIAHR
