President Kiir Dismisses Finance and Revenue Officials

Juba, February 23, 2026 (SSNA) — President Salva Kiir has relieved several government officials of their duties, according to a decree broadcast on the state-run SSBC TV on Monday.

Those affected are Finance Ministry official Bak, National Revenue Authority Commissioner William Anyuol, Deputy Commissioner Ruo Ayii, and former Presidential Envoy to the Middle East and Gulf Nations Monica Achol Abel Aguek.

The finance minister has been in office for three months. Similar dismissals have occurred previously under Kiir’s administration.

No official explanation was provided. Further details have not been announced.
