Addis Ababa, February 13, 2026 (SSNA) — South Sudanese President Salva Kiir flew to Addis Ababa on Friday to join the 39th African Union Assembly, where leaders will focus on water management and sanitation projects across Africa under Agenda 2063.
On the sidelines, Kiir is set to meet representatives from the C5 nations — South Africa, Algeria, Chad, Nigeria, and Rwanda — the group that monitors the process of the 2018 revitalized peace agreement. Key discussions will address national security, political stability, and preparations for the December 2026 elections.
Vice President Taban Deng and senior officials saw the president off at Juba International Airport.
